I’m in the London Marathon

I didn’t really think I’d get in, which I know will irritate all those fitness fanatics who really really want to be in it. For a while, I wasn’t in, then this morning I get a text to say I’m in… and bugger! I’ve got to run 26 miles in less than a day, and raise money for Oxfam.

So, from here on in I will document my decline. These posts will contain random aches and pains (of the physical type), and the thoughts of someone who’s training for something they’re completely unprepared for. But then again, how hard can it be?

If I get blisters, I’ll post photos. If I feel the urge to post photos of new ‘kit’, I’ll immediately withdraw from the marathon (to the increasing irritation of frustrated fitness freaks) and take up smoking and drinking too much again, which is clearly healthier than staring at running shoes, or horse riding for that matter.
